Ever since I first saw an Indian wedding in a movie, I've always want to see one in person. SO I was really excited when I was told that a close friend of my host sister's would be getting married this year. I went to her engagement earlier during my stay and in these past few days the wedding happened. Well not just the wedding, as anyone who knows the Indian traditions can tell you. Many ceremonies and gatherings happened starting 5 days before the wedding and I got to even participate in one. Read more.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go on an AFS trip to Tortuguero, Limón. I got to enjoy a close-up view of Costa Rica's rich wildlife with fellow AFSers. There is definitely a climate difference between Tortuguero and my town, Cerbatana. When our guide took us on a hike through the dense rainforest, my clothes were completely soaked from the humidity. On the hike, we saw a few tucans resting in the lush upper canopy-- too far away to take a good picture, but the memory is still awesome. Read more.

Let me start off by sharing my exciting news. I'm going to Stuttgart for Christmas break! AFS approved it today so I can stay with my uncle and aunt there. It'll be the first time that I get to see where they live, as every time I've seen them its been in America. It'll actually be the first time I have met my aunt face to face as opposed to over the phone. I leave the morning of the 25th (yay for Christmas morning on a 6 hour train!) Read more.

1. Today it is SUNNY OUT! And it is a lovely fall day, and the air smells fall-y, and it's not raining! It's like a miracle.
2. I have been here for TWO MONTHS! I remember a couple weeks ago I was thinking how darn slowly it was all going, but then those passed in a flash and now I think I'm really starting to get into the everyday rhythm here.

Last week was vacation week in Versailles and I went to the coast of Britany and stayed at my grandmeres house. On our drive there Halloween day we stopped at Mount St. Michelle it was very pretty and I loved the small allys even though they're now filled with tourist shops its still really cool. I got a chance to see the Mere Poulard a restaurant which specializes in omlets made traditionally with lots of whisking and over an open fire. Read more.

The AFS/Hong Kong University Halloween Party was about to start. But, of course, it was a Halloween party, so costumes were needed. Me and Jordan had put some forethought into this, and I decided to be a random scary guy with crazy makeup and Jordan was an Asian Vampire. Read more.

Loosing a language. It is as if my brain in combination with my tongue have a certain capacity when it come to languages. The language I've known and uttered my entire life seems to be disappearing right before my lips. But that's not all! I some how forgot how to spell and my other foreign languages have also vanished. Lately I've found myself digging deep in my soul, searching for an English word that lay right at the tip of my tongue. As my brain is filling with Turkish it is deporting any and everything foreign. I'm at the point in my experience when I know enough Turkish to get what I want and/or need and also make a few friends. Read more.

I've been with my new class, in my new school for a week now (started with my 2nd Monday today) and I'm really happy with it. It's still new of corse but It's been really great so far and it just get's better the more used to it I get. I take the train to school now which still feels really cool, but I know it's gonna just be annoying later on. But for now I'm just reminded how lucky I am everyday. I get to ride my bike through the town square and get on the "S" train (headed tword Copenhagen). It makes me feel cool. Read more.

-Theres a million different types of bread and every morning we buy fresh bread for breakfast
-Meals are at really different times. Lunch is around 3 pm and dinner is around 9 pm -You always have to wait for everyone to eat
-When meeting new people you always shake hands, even when its a little kid or someone your age
-No elbows on the table and you bring food to your mouth instead of mouth to your food -Lots of people sing to both the radio and their Ipod
-Acne is completely acceptable and theres no acne commercials here. This really ticks me cause I had really bad acne last year and got hell for it and I wish it had waited a year
-One always has to look put together before they walk out the door, this includes going out for the mail
